TIL THE DAY I DIE

Campaign ads are done for now!  Yay! The country’s election this week is over.  Or is it?  The truth is, you and I continue to campaign.  No, not for a republican or a democrat.  But for ourselves.  We campaign for the approval and applause of others.  Ouch!  That is not something we like to hear. I don’t like to think that I am like that, but it is true!  Take a quick selfie of your hearts and thoughts.  What do you see?  How do you try to win people’s approval?

Prayer:  “God, in my crazy world, please quiet my heart so I can hear from you today.  If I could hear you speak to me, that would mean more than anything.  There is no one my heart and head want to hear from more.”

Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way. If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we’re at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life! Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!

Ok, great but what does all that mean..sacrificial, consummate blood sacrifice and all that stuff?  Let’s put together some thoughts here.

First, if you trust in Jesus with your life you are not enemies with God any longer.  You are on His side.  He has taken you, died for you, accepted you and loved you while you were at your worst.  And He has adopted you.  You are made right and pure in His eyes.  There is nothing you can do to make Him love you less.  YOU ARE APPROVED BY GOD!

Since you are APPROVED BY GOD, you no longer have to do a dance or campaign for other people to approve you.  You are already FULLY ACCEPTED BY GOD!  No rejection.

God says “You are in!”  You do not have to strive to “get in” with your friends, your parents or others.  Just be who God created you to be.  Shine God’s light and dance in that joy.

Prayer:  God, thank you for leaving heaven, living a perfect life, dying on the cross for me, and coming back to life!  I fully believe in You.  It is a true story!  And I know that I am fully approved and accepted and loved by You.  No one can do it better.  I do not have to campaign for the approval of others.  Til the day I die, I will live for You!
