Week 2 Day 1

Spend some time with God today.

Simple Prayer “God, thank you for being awesome!  There is nothing or no one like you.  Nothing even comes close to you.  Show me how real you are more and more everyday.”

Spend some time in God’s Word, the Bible.

WE continue this journey of faith.  Remember faith is different from feelings.  Feelings are based on circumstances.  And “Believing that” is acknowledging that something exists or is true.  “Believing in” is putting your confidence and trust in someone or something.  “Believing in” becomes personal.

In the book of Proverbs (close to the middle of your Bible) it says…

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
⁶ in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

Placing your trust, confidence “belief in” is personal.  It involves risk.  It involves your heart.  Read about this lady who was ill and had spent all her money and resources to get well.   She risks touching Jesus.  Read Mark 5:25-34.

²⁵ And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.²⁶ She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. ²⁷ When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, ²⁸ because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” ²⁹ Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

She had no place to turn.  In a crowd, she makes her move and believes in Jesus.  She knew Jesus was her only hope.  She had exhausted all other resources.  In her desperation she went to Jesus.  Her belief in Jesus because she turned to Him for help.  She did more than “Believe that” Jesus could heal her.  She acted on it.

What is going on in your heart that you cannot handle?  Are you tired of trying to fix your heart just like this lady was always trying to get her health fixed.  Jesus will meet you right where you are.  He loves you like crazy.  Today trust Him with your hurts.

Prayer.  God, thank you for loving me.  You know the hurt on my heart.  I want to trust you with it.  I am trying to have faith.  Help me when my faith is weak.
