The Story of God – Week Two – Day Three

Day Three

Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-20.  J.B. page 1779.

Observation.  Truth matters.  My oldest son, Kaden, serves in the U.S. Army.  He is preparing to be an Army Ranger.  Every week he goes out “into the field” to train so that he is fully prepared if the day ever comes that he has to go into combat.

A part of the training is receiving equipment and learning how to use it for his protection and advancement in battle.  As a dad, you better believe I want him to have all his armor and equipment in place with a readiness to use it.

Application.  You are I are in a battle.  Most times, we cannot see the battle which makes it even more dangerous. But we have been given gear and strategy for victory in the battle.  Remember, we discussed yesterday the devil wants to deceive you and take you down!  But God wants you to succeed and be victorious.

Take a moment to list the “gear” and strategy God has provided you.

This world is dangerous.  The enemy is even more out to completely destroy you.  Spend time with God in His Word, the Sword of the Spirit.  Spend time with God in prayer, praying for yourself and others.  Stay alert.  Be prepared to proclaim Christ at all times, in all circumstances. \

Prayer:  God, I know if the devil tried to take down Jesus, he will try to take me down too.  God, help me to spend time in Your Word.  Speak to me.  Prepare me.
