Thanksgiving is over. CHRISTMAS IS HERE!!! Everywhere we look we see Christmas lights, Christmas advertisements, and hear Christmas music. We are told we deserve to get what we want. And we probably have already told mom and dad what we want for Christmas! We are counting down the days until Christmas vacation! It will be great!
THE REAL CHRISTMAS STORY HAPPENED. And it has a HUGE impact on our lives. 2000+ years ago, an angel gave the message to Mary, a young teenage girl. She found favor from God and received His grace. God declared His plan for salvation to Mary and soon to the world.
Jesus is the Son of the Most High, the one whose Kingdom will have no end.
Application: “God’s Christmas gift,” writes Rick Warren, The Purpose of Christmas, is the most expensive gift you will ever receive. It’s priceless. Jesus paid for it with his life.” And “it’s the only gift that will last forever…you’ll use it every day for the rest of your life.”
Warren writes, “Christmas time is a time for celebration!” Jesus is born!!! “Christmas time is a time for salvation.” Trust Jesus with your life. He left heaven and was born a baby, was tempted just like us, lived a perfect life, died in our place on the cross, and resurrected on third day.
This Christmas season, start from the beginning. Jesus. He is real. He is trustworthy. He cares about every little detail in your life. He is a good, good God.
Jesus is the way coolest, bestest gift we could ever dream about! Don’t miss Him this year. Don’t be so familiar with the details of Christmas, that you miss God’s love story with you included!
Prayer. Jesus, THANK YOU! This Christmas I declare that you are my God and my Savior. I trust in You.
