LAST NIGHT WAS A BLAST!  HAVE A SUPER GREAT DAY!!!

Day One

Scripture: John 11:17-27.  Jesus Bible pg. 1627.

Observation: We pick up the story from last week.  Remember Lazarus, Mary and Martha’s brother is sick.  They sent word to Jesus in another town and Jesus waits before He leaves for their town, Bethany.  In the meantime, Lazarus dies.  And he has already been in the tomb four days.

Martha ran to meet Jesus.  Mary waited inside.  Martha told Jesus that if he had been there Lazarus would not have died.  No doubt she had seen Jesus heal the sick.

Jesus replied, “Your brother will rise again.”  Martha thought he was referring to the last days when believers would rise again.  Jesus then said, “I am the _______________________ and the life.  Whoever _________________ in me shall never die.  Do you believe this?”

LOOK CLOSE, Martha replied, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

Application: Who do you believe Jesus is really?  Jesus asked Martha if she believed.  What would you say if you were Martha.  I mean what does your life say about what you believe?  Martha tells Jesus, you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

Romans 10:9-10 says, “…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  That is what we must do.

Resurrection and life is not in a memorized prayer.  Life is in Jesus.  Trusting in Him, a person, a relationship is the key.  That is why Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life.”

Prayer.  Jesus, help me to trust in You.  You, my God, who chose to walk this earth and live and suffer and die in my place.  I want to know You more and more and more.
