Week Six Day Three

Day Three

Scripture: John 9:35-41.  J.B. page 1625.

Observation.  The religious people cast out the blind beggar that Jesus healed. They rejected his story.

When Jesus found the man, He asked him, “Do you believe in the Son of Man (a title referring to God’s Son)?    The man asked, “Who is he that I may believe in Him?”  Jesus says, “He is speaking to you.”  The man said, “Lord, I believe.”  And then he worshipped Jesus.  I think I would say the same thing!

Jesus explains those who do not know Him are spiritually blind. He came that they might see God, trust Him and make Him Lord.  We are spiritually blind if we do not believe.

The Pharisees and the religious Jews did not believe Jesus.  They remained blind.  They rejected Him, His miracles, His message, His life and resurrection. They missed Jesus right in front of them.

The healed man, chose right.  Even though he would be cast out, he called Jesus, “Lord.”  He chose to believe in Him.  No doubting or questioning, no turning back regardless of the consequences.

Application.  Jesus is still at work so spiritually blind will see.  He may not be walking around the world physically like He did 2000 years ago.  But God is still at work through the Holy Spirit.  Don’t miss Him at work right in front of You.  Ask God to show You how He is work all around You.  Ask Him to use you so the spiritually blind, maybe your friends, will put their faith in Him.

Prayer: Jesus, You are the way the way, the truth, the life.  You have come so that everyone may see!  I pray for my friend, _______________, that he/she will see You and believe in You.
