Day Two

Scripture: John 2:1-17.  J.B. page 1613.

Page 1614 in The Jesus Bible are good notes and insight on this story.  This page is not part of the Bible, God’s Word.  However, they are good insight that a man added to the story.  Read it if time allows.

Observation.  Think about what the verse says.  What is going on in this story?  A Pharisee, (religious leader), Nicodemus (call him Nic for short) comes to Jesus at night.  Why?  Because he has questions, he is curious, but he does not want to be seen, since the Pharisees did not like Jesus.

Notice that Nicodemus calls him teacher but does not acknowledge that Jesus is God’s son.  What else do you notice?

Application.  What are Nic’s question of Jesus?  What are Jesus’ responses?

There is a word Jesus says at least 4 times in those verses?  Do you see it?  Write it down.

God wants your trust.  Your belief in Him.  Without faith, it is impossible to please God.  If you could meet one-on-one with Jesus, like Nic did, what would you ask Him?

Reread verse 17.  What does it mean that Jesus did not come to condemn the world?

Prayer.  Talk to God today about your concerns.  Do you believe in Him?  Tell him about some of the tough stuff going on in your life…big or small.  He cares about the things that are on your heart.
