Scripture: John 2:1-11.  J.B. page 1612.

 Observation.  Yesterday we saw how Jesus invited the future disciples to come check him out.  “Come and See.”  Today, Jesus, takes these followers to a wedding.  Don’t rush through the story, instead put yourself in a tux or at least a nice suit or dress standing next to Jesus.  Notice who is there, Jesus’ mother and probably the rest of His family.  The new followers get to check out Jesus’ earthly life.  But what happens when they are there?  This is not your normal boring wedding.  Jesus does a miracle!  So, if it helps imagine Jesus turns warm water into your favorite drink, perhaps a Slurpee from 7/11?

Jesus’ mom, Mary, tells Jesus that the wedding host has run out of wine.  That is an embarrassment.  Mary tells the household servants to do whatever Jesus tells them to.  Write down what happens next.  What is the reaction from those at the wedding?  Who are the only ones who knows what really happened?

Application.  As a new follower of Jesus, witnessing this, what are your thoughts about who Jesus is?  How does this confirm and strengthen your faith?  Would you race to tell anyone you know now what you saw?  Would you run home and tell your parents or your little brother or sister?  Would you tell your best friend?

Prayer.  Talk to God about how the week has been.  What has been good?  Not so good?  What questions do you have about Him?

Can’t wait to see you Sunday!  You are being prayed for this week.  You are loved like CRAZY by God and by so many!   Trust God.  He is ALWAYS faithful no matter what circumstances come your way!  He is a good, good Father!
