Passion Review Day 1

The Week After

PASSION REVIEW

Wow, it is time to get back on this.  This is a tool to help you spend time with God.  We want to get to know God more and more and more and more because God is the good news.  And if you believe IN Him, not just about Him, you have a relationship with Him.

So this week, we want to do a little review of things we learned at Passion Camp.  And if you did not join us, that’s cool too, you can learn right along with us.

The very first night Grant talked to us about how we like to customize our God, We like to “modify” god to suit a particular task or belief.  But that is not God at all.  We end up with all different versions of Jesus, but not the real Jesus at all.

The lie we believe:  God is who you want Him to be.

PRAYER:  God, wake us up today.  Show us where we make You to look like how we want You to look.  We want you to be our God, not some spiritual thing we can define or manage.

GRAB YOUR BIBLE:  Matthew 16:23-25

Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

We have been sold a version of Christianity that costs us nothing.  But Jesus said following Him will cost us EVERYTHING!

Jesus is Lord and Savior.  He is God.  And He NEVER changes.  In His call to follow Him, He demands that we make Him number one in our life, to sit on the throne of our life.

Following Jesus will cause you to miss out on a lot, but nothing that you will regret!

We are not living for satisfaction for the moment for satisfaction for eternity.

PRAYER:  God, how have I made You small and convenient?  How have I tried to tame you or make you customizable in the version of a god that works for me?  Please show me.  Convict me of that sin.  You are my God.  You never change.  You require my all.  Help me to be ALL IN.  I love you.
