Friends For Life Week 2 Day 1

FRIENDS FOR LIFE

Week 2 Day 1

Batman and Robin.  The Lone Ranger and Tonto.  Snoopy and Woodstock.  Mickey and Minnie.  Famous friends.  You could name several more.

We started a conversation last week about friends.  Who are your friends?  Who do you run to during the tough times?  Wo do you like to spend time with?  Which of your friends are wise?  Are any of your friends fools?  Have you ever suffered harm because of a friend?

Prayer:  “Father, God, thank you are the best friend I could have.  I love you.  Teach me to pursue godly friendships.

Grab Your Bible:  Read Proverbs 13:20.

Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.

So have you ever accidentally leaned against a wall with fresh paint?  Or have you ever leaned against a dirty car?  If not, I know you have spilled something down the front of your shirt when eating a meal?  Barbeque sauce, peanut butter, grease, or toothpaste?  I have done it lots of times.

We read this verse last week and talked about it Sunday night.  Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.  Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, basically says if you spend most you’re your time with wise people, wise will rub off on you.  If you spend time with stupid people, stupid will rub off on you.

You and I need wisdom in who we choose to hang out with.  It is YUGE!  Hang out with those who will make you wise, not stupid!

Prayer:  God give me wisdom about friendships.  Help me to listen to you.  Help me to choose my friends wisely.
