Rescue Week 1 Day 1
RESCUED
Week 1 Day 1
Holy Cow! Sorry this is so late getting to you this week.
On April 15, 1912, the most famous ship that ever sailed sank after hitting an iceberg a little over 2 hours before. With the ship, 1517 men, women, and children sank to the bottom, including some very wealthy and famous people. Only 706 would survive the disaster in the North Atlantic Ocean.
The largest man-made moving object on Earth at that time featured a swimming pool, gymnasium, 2 libraries, a squash court and a Turkish bath. It was an amazing ship.
The passengers on board did not realize the danger. They were dancing, looking out at the ocean waters, asleep, partying and enjoying the amazing voyage. They were rich and poor. They were black and white. They wore fancy clothes and old clothes. They were famous and unknown. They were first class and second class. But none of that mattered. None of that was able to save them.
Prayer: “Father, God, thank you that you are real. Thank you that you are faithful. Please quiet my heart and my mind so I can hear from You in your word.”
Grab Your Bible: People all around us are doing life. Getting up, going to school, drudgingly going to the next class, waiting to get home to sleep or play Fortnite. But what they do not realize is that they, along with ourselves, all need rescuing. The iceberg is dead ahead.
Read Romans 3:23 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
Since we have sinned. We have all messed up. And the result is that we are separated from God.
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
The bottom line: we all need to be rescued! We have sinned and the result is that we are separated from God. Your life may seem to be sailing along right along. You are on the ship. The party is on. Nothing big needed. However, the iceberg is dead ahead.
There is a rescuer! It doesn’t matter if you are black or white, rich or poor, famous or unknown, dressed to kill or just barely dress. There is only one answer, only one who can resuce. Help has arrived.
Prayer: God I know I am a sinner. I know that my sin separates me from you. I need to be rescued. Please forgive me my sin. I want to know and trust you.
